Villain Challenges - Q&A

Postby Briceps » Wed Apr 27, 2016 12:22 pm

Thought I'd start a thread for questions regarding the challenges, even though most are pretty straight forward.

I'd like to start adding in work for the Wrestler Squat challenge and was wondering if it can be done frequency style throughout the day? My thoughts were doing a few sets before work, maybe one or two at lunch, and remaining sets during the evening or as part of my gym routine. Thoughts? Where would one start based off a baseline test number?

You can definitely do these FM style.

I found that even one set each day was beneficial in increasing your number (and conditioning).

I don't up these the same way I do with pushups, I'd shoot for a benchmark number (100 etc) and go from there. I'd add 20 reps or so to the target number for the session, and, if doing multiple sets per day, would have a target number for the day as well.

JP,

Did you use chalk for your daily sets on the Kettle bell Snatch challenge or tape them up? Day 3 of working on it and my hands are already pretty torn up.

I used chalk hem here and there, but much of your hands being torn up comes from improper grip/technique. Check out some videos on Girevoy sport snatch technique, you should be able to get some pointers.

I'll add that to the list of youtube vids to shoot in the near future.
