The Grind

Started back on the GSLP recently, so I decided to start a new log. I haven't been on a program or trained consistently in a while. I know getting back on here and watching some other logs and reading the discussions will help me out, both with knowledge and motivation.

My diet has been locked in for quite a while now, so now I am back to training on a consistent basis and it is coming back pretty quickly.

The plan is to keep the plan the plan.

Only have 45 minutes (max) to train, so I am running a very stripped down GSLP.

Need to work on my bench technique and shoulder mobility, it just isn't working with the bar so I am currently just using dumbbells. Feels much better so I am going to do that until I get everything else worked out.

If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your squat? I recall seeing in your old log that you were in the mid 300's for sets of 5 and now you're down to the 235? I've been having some suckage in the squat myself and wondering how you're going about solving this yourself.

I was up to about 320 for sets, but that was April 2011. With changing jobs, buying a house, going back to school (etc.) I haven't trained consistently since then. I am really rebuilding. A lot of time off makes for a lot of lost ground.

Also that was at a bodyweight of 200, and I am coming back up from weighing 150 about a month ago.

Oh I see. I've had inconsistent phases here and there (like 1-2 months, never 1.5 years though) and found that the second time around is way easier than the first. Looking forward to seeing you getting caught up.

Going back to 10-15lb jumps for deadlift, and plan to stay in lower rep ranges on everything before resetting. I think a BW Press is not far off, which will be significant for me. Fought the urge to try it yesterday.
