I've just got back from the docs about my elbow tendonitis (both arms). Did they say anything to you about lifting heavy? I've been suggested to get on higher reps until New Years and see how that goes.

Obviously they're different situations, I'm just interested.

not to "do much" is all he said. I've seen this guy so many time so for so many injuries over the past 15+ years I have his cell phone #. I text him a joke about needing to make another contribution to his retirement & and his secretary calls me back with my apt time.

This is a new injury. I had tendonitis in my other arm twice. Once it took almost year, 3 rounds of cortisone, one of those forearm wraps, plus wearing a carpel tunnel wrist brace to get it to heal. The other time I was good to go in a week. Tendonitis is painful and quirky. Do yourself a favor and don't push it is the only advise I can give you.

Hey guys,

Going forward I'm going to post weekly updates here in addition to my more detailed log over at Rips. TM starts for real tomorrow.

THE PLAN:
1. Benching twice a week
:
Because I've got 8 weeks left in 2016, I'm starting TM ID bench at 205x5 with the hopes that I'll get to 225x5 if all goes as planned by adding 2.5lbs each week.

2. Presses:
add 2.5 lbs/week to a reduced weight (145lbs) on recovery( light) day and titrate up 2.5lb/wk for a possible 3x5 PR at 165 by the end of the year.

3: Squats:
I've taken so many back steps I'm still technically on my LP, but it'll be a weekly LP now. Heavy Day I'm starting at 225 5x3 and add 5 lbs every other week. ID starts at 270 with the goal of 312.5x3 by end of year.

4. Deadlift
Ramp 5's up to 80% of ID on HD, then do 300 2x2 on ID, slowly add reps & weights as my grip & back get stronger.

TM Week 6 = first bad week since the summer

12/3/16
Bench 192.5 5x5
Press 115 3x8

Then I got the ladder out to clean gutters & hang Christmas lights (2+ story colonial) and did something to my upper back/neck. Woke up 12/4 with painful neck and spasms in the lower trap/chicken wing part of my upper left back. so I didn't squat or deadlift.

I did some pressing reps 12/6 & 12/8 on the 115 I'd left on the bar when bringing garbage out, otherwise I've taken a week off to heal up a bit. Still feeling the effect but I'm going to bang out some bench/deads tonight and press/squat Wednesday and then restart next Saturday with a TM heavy day at my TM week 1 weight.

Enjoy your youth boys!!!
