New Log FOr An Old Guy

Postby Navy0923 » Mon Dec 28, 2015 1:56 pm

Been training off and on for a long time but in the last few years I have had four elbow surgeries and severe arthritis in both knees. I got tired of losing all my gains and have gotten fat. So as I approach 45 I decided to make some changes. Due to my knees being a wreck I am squatting with a smith machine, which sucks but is better than nothing at all. I have been in the navy for almost 25 years so my knees are thrashed from the steel decks.

Breakfast
Fruit and veggie smoothy with 2 scoops of protien
Pre workout
One scoop protien with peanut butter
Post workout
One scoop protien

Lunch
Salad with 6 ounces of left over turkey, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese dressing and craisins

Snack

10 ounces of turkey corn chowder

Dinner to be steak with a salad.

28 December
45 minute fasted walk at 0445

Chin ups: 8,5
Kroc rows: 85x15 right, 15 left

I have done simple and sinister as well as a lot of Tex rows and dips, this is just my first liftingmsession in a few years. It is great to be back.

29 December
60 minute fasted walk

30 December
Bench press:225x7
Curls:95x9,6
Deadliest:365x12
100 sit-ups

Everything felt good. Did the sit-ups for a little extra ab work and they are part of my pft.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

31 December

60 minute fasted walk

Pick up basketball with my nine year old twins

01 Jan

Press:120x12
Chins: 10x7,5
K-ball front Squats: double 22 kg x 21
100 swings (10 reps every 30 seconds for 7:30)

Switching to kettle bell front Squats instead of smith machine. I hate machines and the kb's allow me to get really deep and my abs get a ton of work from all the bracing. I will jump up to the next size up only if I get 20 or more reps since I can't make small jumps in weight.

Happy New Year
